Podcast Overview

'A Conversation with a Mentor' podcast is presented to you by the Mentoring Leadership team of YLGen. Our desire is to see Younger Leaders and Senior Leaders in YLGen build soul friendships for global mission.

Being in a leadership position can be a lonely place and with many obstacles. In order to grow in Christ-like character, friendship, and mission we need mature Christian leaders and peers to walk alongside us.

Through this podcast we want to make the world small again by interviewing Christian guides across the globe for whole-life mentoring. We will listen to their life story, how they experienced mentoring in their own lives, and learn practical insights on mentoring.

Our goal is to equip both Senior Leaders, who are already mentoring in YLGen, and Younger Leaders who are getting started in the path of mentoring others.

We hope this podcast can become a tool that will nurture mentoring conversations between mentors and mentees so that the mentoring conversation may enrich our spiritual lives and leadership for the Kingdom of God.

He serves as a church planter, is passionate about Bible teaching, relational evangelism and developing young leaders.

With his wife He is the co-director of missionary care for France Evangelism. They also founded the “breathe spiritual retreats” to encourage young leaders to love Jesus from the inside out, serving from a place of rest and spiritual vitality.

Mark Slaughter is an Evangelist and the Director of Evangelistic Partnerships for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA where he has served over 30 years. His twin passions are to communicate the Gospel and to mentor younger evangelists.

Representing InterVarsity in partnership with other ministries, Mark is on the YLGen Mentoring Leadership Team as well as spearheading various initiatives for mentoring a new generation of evangelistic leaders through Leighton Ford Ministries.

Mark and his wife, Dawn, live near Indianapolis, Indiana. They have two adult children and three grandchildren.

Delphine Fanfon is originally from Cameroon. Delphine holds a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership with an emphasis on Global Consulting from Regent University and two master’s degrees – one in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary and another in Counseling from Regent University.

Born and raised in a Christian home, Delphine began her walk with Jesus at age 12. She has never been satisfied with the average but actively seeks the Lord for clarity on her two-fold life’s purpose – youth empowerment and leader development. She pursues both with unquenchable zeal. She currently serves as the Africa Leader / Cameroon Country Team Leader of LeaderSource SGA, is the founder of Me4real International, an organization which helps people discover their purpose and equips them to live it in their generation. Delphine believes that the transformation that Africa needs can only come through a new breed of healthy leaders who actively build others.

Anthony Chin Aleong has been active in ministry from the age of 12. From an early age he felt the call to full-time missions and in his late teens he enrolled in the Open Bible School of Theology. Thereafter he completed his degree in Computer Science from the University of Hertfordshire. He is also a graduate of Belhaven University, holding a Masters in Ministry Leadership.

In 2013 he joined the staff of the Inter-School InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, where he currently serves as the Associate General Secretary and Campus Staff, with the primary responsibility of overseeing all field operations that span 121 schools and campuses.

Initially a reluctant leader, Anthony has found himself serving in many Leadership capacities, mostly with young people. He has also served as a worship leader at his home church for many years. He has received leadership training both locally and internationally, including Lausanne Younger Leaders Gathering 2016, and the first ever IFES Global Leadership Initiative.

Anthony has a deep desire to see people come to know Jesus, and an even deeper desire to see a culture of discipleship becomes the norm within the body of Christ.

He is happily married to his wife Shanae.
